Our expert panel – Jacqui Lavin, RNutr

After
gaining her masters degree (MMedSci) in Human Nutrition from
the University of Sheffield in 1993, Jacquie stayed in Sheffield
as a researcher at the Centre of Human Nutrition, investigating
the effects of carbohydrate on appetite control. Jacquie obtained
a PhD in 1998, and has presented her work at a number of national
and international conferences. She has published several academic
journal papers and was involved in the preparation of a distance
learning masters degree course in human nutrition and supervision
of Masters student projects on appetite regulation.
Jacquie became a Registered Nutritionist with the Nutrition
Society in 1999, and continues to contribute to the teaching
of the Masters in Human Nutrition at the Centre for Human
Nutrition University of Sheffield. She also gives lectures
on obesity and weight loss to research groups and students
of nutrition and psychology.
A member of the Association for the Study of Obesity, The
Society for the Study of Ingestive Behavior, the Nutrition
Society, the British Feeding and Drinking Group and the Nutritionists
in Industry Group, Jacquie has become a regular contributor
to the popular press, including Men's Health, Woman's Own,
Best, Zest, Top Sante, Woman, Woman's Weekly, Bella, Sunday
Mirror, Sunday People, The Express and Daily Record, advising
on nutrition and slimming issues.
She joins bodyOptimise as our expert on nutrition.
