Our expert panel – Dr Andrew Hill PhD, CPsychol
Dr
Andrew Hill is a Chartered Psychologist and Professor
in the Academic Unit of Psychiatry and Behavioural Sciences
at Leeds University School of Medicine. He has conducted research in the field of nutrition, obesity and eating disorders. His current research focuses on body image and the psychology of weight in children and adults, self esteem and self-appraisal with regard to weight and shape, and food cravings, aversions and appetite control.
In 1988, Dr Hill became an Associate Fellow of the British
Psychological Society, and he is currently Chairman of the
Association for the Study of Obesity and an Associate Editor
of the British Journal of Clinical Psychology. He has published
over ninety academic journal papers and book chapters, and
his research interests relate to nutrition, obesity and eating
disorders. Current research activity focuses on the psychology
of shape and weight concern in children and adults; self-esteem,
self-appraisal and overweight; and food cravings, aversions
and appetite control.
