Membership information
Your right to cancel your online membership
If you become a member of bodyOptimise via this website you have a short "cooling off period" when you have the right to cancel your membership. The right finishes 7 days after enrolling (having not entered the members' area) or after building your profile, setting your personal weight loss target and entering the members' homepage – whichever occurs soonest.
The right to cancel your membership ends once you have begun to use the bodyOptimise service. Information that follows our profile building and target setting process constitutes part of our services to our members. Because our service starts immediately on entering the members' homepage, by accessing this information you will have utilised our services and your right to cancel your new membership will have ended.
Transferring or pausing membership
In exceptional circumstances, online membership can be paused and resumed at a later date.
Transferral of online membership to group membership can be arranged using vouchers for your personal group attendance. We endeavour to provide vouchers that reflect, as closely as possible, the value of online membership remaining, however we’re unable to refund any difference.
Gold members wishing to transfer their membership should keep their Food Optimising book pack in order to use these at their Slimming World group each week.

Re-subscriptions and cancellation
Once you have become a member (minimum 3 months subscription) you can cancel your monthly re-subscriptions at any time by giving us 2 weeks notice. Until we receive this notice we will continue to deduct your subscription from your debit or credit card each month.
If you wish to cancel, please use the Cancel Future Subscriptions button in the My bodyOptimise > View your current account status section of the members' area. Alternatively, let us know by letter or email (stating your full name, registered e-mail address and membership number) at:

If you do not receive a response within 7 days, please contact us again or check your membership status on the Edit Payment Details page.
Although it is each member’s responsibility to cancel their membership, if bodyOptimise is not used for 42 days, future subscriptions are cancelled automatically. The website can be accessed for any remaining membership, and membership can be continued on a monthly basis by visiting the My bodyOptimise section to re-enter payment details or continued by using one of our special 3, 6 or 12 month re-subscription offers.
We will give you 4 weeks notice if we wish to terminate the provision of the bodyOptimise services to you. Upon termination we will cease charging you and we will not collect any further payments.
Bookshop terms and conditions
Ordering agreement
By placing an order with Slimming World’s bodyOptimise, you are confirming that all goods ordered by you are for your own private and domestic use only.
We reserve the right to refuse orders if we suspect an order is not for personal use or if we suspect you are in any way involved in fraudulent or illegal activity on the website, including, but not limited to, the use of stolen credit cards.
Please note: During your membership you will be able to order a maximum of three of each book. This excludes the Food Optimising and Body Magic book pack - only one copy of this pack is available per member.
Postage & packaging costs
With the exception of Slimming World magazine subscription, book prices shown do not include post & packaging, and are subject to these charges being added prior to the payment stage.
Processing of orders
Credit and Debit cards are debited on the day of ordering. Every purchase you make shall be performed in the United Kingdom and UK law governs every aspect of contractual agreement concerning purchases made from bodyOptimise.
We will confirm that your order has been received and is being processed by a confirmation email to your given e-mail address and to your bodyOptimise inbox. Please check that the details on the e-mail are correct as soon as possible and print a copy as confirmation of your order.
Please ensure that all details you provide to bodyOptimise for the purpose of ordering or purchasing goods or services are correct, that the credit or debit card you are using is your own and that there are sufficient funds to cover the cost of the goods or services ordered.
If there are any changes to the details supplied at the time of order it is your responsibility to inform the bodyOptimise team as soon as possible.
Delivery
We aim to get your order to you as quickly as possible. All orders are dispatched within 1 working day of receiving your order. Your order may require a signature on delivery. If you are not available to sign for your order, a card will be left by the delivery service.
Goods will be sent to the address given by you at the time of your order and as stated in the confirmation e-mail.
International delivery
If your delivery address is outside the UK, you may be subject to import duties and taxes, which are levied once a shipment reaches your country. Any additional charges for customs clearance are your responsibility. (Please note, customs policies vary widely from country to country so please contact your local customs office for further information.) Please be aware that cross-border shipments are subject to opening and inspection by customs authorities.
Undelivered orders
We aim to deliver within 5 working days of receiving your order, however we occasionally experience unforeseen delays in delivery. If your delivery is severely overdue and you have not received a delivery notification card, please send an e-mail to book.shop@bodyoptimise.com including the following details:
- full name and membership number
- order number
- total value of the order
- date order was placed
Even better, please reply to us using the confirmation e-mail you received, letting us know that you haven’t yet received your order.
Damage to Food Optimising book packs
If you choose to become a Gold member of bodyOptimise you will receive Slimming World’s Food Optimising book pack as part of your membership. It is your responsibility to retain these books in good condition as Slimming World cannot accept responsibility for any damage incurred whilst in your possession. If your Food Optimising book pack should become so damaged that you cannot use it, we will enable you to purchase a replacement book pack at a cost of £15 + postage on receipt of your old damaged book pack.
Your returned book pack should be received by Slimming World within 7 working days of notification to us that it has been damaged. To return your book pack, please write ‘book pack return’ on the delivery slip. Package the slip, any delivery notes and the books securely and send them to us at the address below. We will then activate a replacement book pack to be available to purchase via bodyOptimise's online bookshop. This is limited to one replacement book pack per member.

Cancelling your Order
You can abandon or remove items from your shopping cart at any stage of your visit up until the point of clicking ‘confirm order’. All purchases are non-exchangeable, non-refundable and non-transferable.
Your ‘Right to Cancel’
If you purchase goods from us online you have a period of 7 working days beginning with the day after the day upon which you receive the goods when you can cancel the order. This is known as a "Cooling Off Period".
You have this right if you, for example, buy books in our online bookstore, subscribe to the magazine online or if you are entitled to receive these products as a result of joining bodyOptimise.
If you exercise your Right to Cancel, you must return to us the goods which we have supplied to you under the relevant contract at your own expense within 21 days of the date upon which you exercise your Right to Cancel and in the condition that they were in when they were delivered to you. You must retain possession and take reasonable care of the goods until you have returned them to us.
If you choose to cancel your order after it has been dispatched, notice must be given in writing within 7 working days of receiving the goods. Notification may be sent by e-mail to book.shop@bodyoptimise.com with the following information:
- full name and membership number
- order number
- total value of the order
- date order was placed
Or reply to book.shop@bodyoptimise.com using the confirmation e-mail you received, letting us know that you’d like to cancel your order.
The returned goods should be received by Slimming World within 7 working days of your cancellation notification. To return your order, please write ‘contract cancelled’ on the delivery slip. Package the slip, any delivery notes and the unwanted item(s) securely and send them to us at the address below. We will arrange a refund of the price you paid for the goods provided that the goods you wish to return are received by bodyOptimise in the condition that they were in when delivered to you.

Please note that, unless the item is damaged or has been delivered in error, you will be responsible for the costs of returning the goods to us. If we do not receive the item back from you with the delivery slip, we may arrange for collection of the item from your residence at your cost.
We reserve the right to make a 15% restocking charge for any goods which are not returned in mint condition or to refuse to accept such goods, at our sole discretion. Your statutory rights are not affected.
Once we receive notification from you that you wish to cancel your order (in accordance with these terms), any sum debited to bodyOptimise in relation to your order will be re-credited to that account as soon as possible and in any event within 30 days of your order.

Personal information and how it is used
All information supplied to us by you will be utilised in a manner compliant with our obligations under the Data Protection Act 1998.
To join bodyOptimise we request the following personal information: first name, surname, e-mail address, current weight, current height, health details and food preferences. This information, and any personal information received thereafter, is used for the purpose of personalising your experience of bodyOptimise. You should ensure this information is accurate and we would refer you to the section headed ‘Disclaimer’ below.
As required by the UK Data Protection Act 1998 you may ask us whether we are storing personal information about you by emailing us at privacy@bodyoptimise.com and, if you wish and upon payment of a fee of £10, we will provide you with a copy of the personal data we hold about you by email. We may ask for proof of your identity before providing any information and reserve the right to refuse to provide information requested if identity is not established. We will amend any inaccuracy notified to us.
We will use your information for the purpose informing you of special offers and providing other marketing information to you which we think you may find of interest. If you would rather not receive this information, you may opt out by e-mailing unsubscribe@bodyoptimise.com
To ensure we are what publishing content users’ need and want, bodyOptimise collects site-visitation statistics using http header information. We only use this information in aggregated form and only use site-visitation and usage statistics for improving the site.
You are responsible for all actions made under your chosen username and password and will only use bodyOptimise
under your own username and password. You must make every effort to keep your password safe and should not
disclose it to anyone. If it is compromised, you must change it. You may not transfer or sell your username to
anyone, nor permit, either directly or indirectly, anyone to use your username or password.
Use of Cookies
When visiting certain areas of the site, a cookie may be placed on your machine or read if you have visited the site previously. We do not use this technology to access any personally identifiable information; it is a tool we use to improve the functionality of the bodyOptimise website.
