Healthy eating’s become a way of life for Jackie

Jackie Walker from Staffordshire has lost 3st 4lbs to change her lifestyle and reach her slim target. Now she’s fitter, more active and has even made changes at work! Read about Jackie’s transformation here… 

“I’ve struggled with my weight since I left school. I’ve tried hundreds of diets – I’d lose weight but then put even more on - always becoming de-motivated by the limits, points and counting. 

“The final straw was being asked to my cousin’s wedding in the Dominican Republic. I'm the oldest of all my cousins and I decided there was no way I was going to be both the oldest and the fattest in the pictures! The wedding was planned for September, so I set myself the challenge of losing 3 stones by then.

“I decided to join bodyOptimise, as I knew an online plan would suit my lifestyle better - I’d been to a Slimming World group in the past but missed lots of meetings because of my busy job.

“The Food Optimising plan has made losing weight easy. I swapped the processed foods I’d been eating (burgers and breaded meat and fish) for healthier, homemade versions, like fresh fillets of lean meat and fish. My dinners are really filling – I've certainly had no complaints from my husband and 23-year old son who eat the same meals as me! My sweet tooth is also satisfied with yoghurts and the treats that I use my Syns on!

“bodyOptimise’s online food diary, recipe ideas and menu planners are all very motivating.  I also really like the FIT log as it helps me plan activity into my week. Body Magic is all about building up to activity so things like gardening, walking (even housework!) all count. I found it easy to do this as it's not daunting, like joining a gym and it doesn't have to cost you anything. I quickly progressed onto doing 2½ hours of activities over five days. My husband and I now go for regular walks in the evenings, which I really enjoy.
